Jimmy Grappone - REALTOR ®
I am a husband, a dog owner, a recreational golfer, an on-again / off-again workout warrior, a lover and connoisseur of barbecue and local craft IPAs, an older brother and self-professed mama’s (and mama-in-law’s) boy, and an all-around sports junkie. I love being on the golf course and on the water, but hopefully not at the same time. Relaxation is on a boat with a fishing pole in hand and The Avett Brothers playing in the background.
My motivation and inspiration begin at home. Home is more than just four walls and a roof. It’s where we live with our spouses, our families, where we forge relationships and create memories that last a lifetime. It’s my “why” for being in real estate. Home is not only shelter, but all of the dreams and aspirations that come along with it, including what it is now and what it will become. Nothing beats helping others find that special place they will call home and create dreams and experiences and memories of their own. I am blessed to be in the “business of home.”
My passion for real estate was first piqued as a child, when my mom and I would drive around after church on Sundays and look at model homes and, often, homes under construction, where she would point out to me what each room would eventually be. Those half-constructed houses were where I first learned to imagine what a home could become. Watching and helping my dad finish the upstairs of my childhood home--with the proper permits, of course--at the age of 10 was an inspiration, as well.
Growing up in Virginia, I was always intrigued by the Williamsburg-inspired, Colonial style homes that populated my area of Chesterfield County, the early-1900s row houses of Richmond’s Fan District, and the historic residence of Thomas Jefferson, Monticello, as well as the famed Parthenon-inspired Rotunda on the grounds of my alma mater, the University of Virginia.
I have lived in and around Charlotte for more than a decade, first moving to south Charlotte’s Raintree in 2005. I proceeded to live in Ballantyne, Steele Creek, and the Montford area as a bachelor. My wife and I spent our first few years together in Matthews before settling down in Waxhaw, North Carolina in 2013. We immediately fell in love with Waxhaw’s history and small-town charm.
I am active in the Waxhaw business community and I currently serve as a board member for the Waxhaw Business Association. I will take over the position of President of the WBA in 2017. I pride myself on being intimately familiar with my adopted hometown and having a voice in my community.
I love the variety of the real estate profession and forming genuine relationships and lasting friendships with my clients. No two clients or transactions are the same, though I constantly draw on past experiences to advise and guide my clients with great competence.
I am truly a story-teller at heart, and from the first time homebuyer, to the growing family, to the experienced mover, to the aging downsizer, every client has his or her own unique story to tell and a compelling reason for buying or selling a home. I am grateful that, as my clients’ Real Estate Advisor, I get to be part of their story, as well. Perhaps one day, I’ll be a part of yours.
